The Shepherd of Anu

Orion, the hunter, is found next to his two dogs -Canis Minor and Major - and is battling Taurus, who is also near by. When he's not after the bull in the sky, he hunts Lepus, the hare, with his bow and arrow and his dogs.

Artemis, greek goddess of the hunt and the wild, one day fell deeply in love with Orion the Hunter. In her infatuation with him she forgot to light up the night sky, according to one mythological source, her twin brother Apollo became jealous of her love for a mortal. Allegedly protecting his sister's maidenhood, Apollo sent a huge scorpion to attack Orion. This giant scorpion was too strong, even for the great hunter, and eventually killed him.

Artemis' sadness was so great that, remorsefully,
Apollo helped his sister hang the hunter's image in the sky in the form of a constellation. Right before dying, Orion wounded Scorpio and killed it as well. The scorpion's figure was also traced in the sky, in commemoration of the great battle.

Until this day, when the scorpion appears over the horizon, the hunter's stars sink under the other side of the globe. The gods placed them in such a way so that they would never meet eachother again, and never fight again, or is it that the hunter is fleeing from the creature that defeated him?

El cumplidor de sueños del Chota

Agustín, el "Tin" Delgado es, históricamente, uno de los jugadores más importantes del fútbol ecuatoriano. Si bien es cierto que perdió la cabeza el diciembre pasado y empezó una bronca innecesaria, la mafia de la FEF (Federacion Ecuatoriana de Fútbol) traicionó a este jugador tan importante para ellos.

Lo castigaron con un año de sanción sin poder jugar en los torneos nacionales, y luego peticionaron a la FIFA que se le impida jugar en cualquier país del planeta por el mismo tiempo.
El castigo fue desproporcional, él empezó la pelea, pero no golpeó a nadie en el piso, no lanzó patadas, aunque jugadores de ambos equipos lo hicieron.

El punto no es la bronca que se haya dado, qué equipo fue el agresor o el agredido, sino que la FEF olvidó la gratitud que debia tenerle al Tin. Olvidaron que él es el goleador de la seleccion ecuatoriana en eliminatorias mundialistas, que sus goles nos llevaron al mundial en dos ocasiones, que metió el primer gol ecuatoriano en un torneo de fútbol mundial, que en el del 2006 fue uno de los jugadores más reconocidos de nuestra selección. Gracias a él, los de la FEF viajaron a Alemania, la pasaron de lujo, y vieron a nuestra selección demostrar, probablemente, el mejor fútbol de su historia. Ingratos, traidores, cobardes.

¿Tendrá algo que ver que el Tin reclamó que no se les habia pagado a los jugadores algunos montos pendientes por la participacion mundialista? ¿Será que mencionó que la FEF se habia gastado demás, al haber llevado demaciados invitados a Alemania? Solo sé que la FEF actuó injustamente, mordieron la mano, más bien, el pie que los dio de comer.

Parece hoy que le van a levantar la sanción a Agustín, y los federativos hacen alarde de su bondad y de el gran tramite que estan haciendo. Olvidaron que le arruinaron posibilidades de jugar en el Peñarol de Uruguay, un importantísimo equipo, o en el Red Bulls de la jonny (USA en términos ecuatorianos). Según una nota de esta mañana en la televisión, hubiera ganado $600,000 hasta ahora jugando en el equipo de los toros rojos... En realidad no importa que el Tin haya dejado de ganar miles de dólares, sino que se le ha quitado el derecho de trabajo y castigado injustamente. Ojalá se le levante la sanción pronto y vuelva a tener nuevas ofertas de trabajo.

Suerte al Tin, no todos nos olvidamos de lo que hizo por su país, sus niños del Chota, su Ecuador.

Señores, es verdad: el Gordo Vanidón está de vuelta.
Juicy Fruit is back from the north, to work with his mom and to enjoy life back at home...

It's good to have one of my old friends back, I have seen my good friends on and off since we graduated from school (with the exception of Ricky, who would study in Daytona back when I was in Melbourne, we'd see each other almost every weekend).

I've seen the fat bastard a couple of times already, we went to the movies and watched 300 (good movie despite the weak plot), before that we had a couple of beers and he accompanied me to one of my classes (Historia de las Ideas)... It was like high school again, and our first class together in six years... damn.

Anyways, it's pretty cool to have one of my old friends back, since I came back from Florida Tech I have been abandoned by my mates... It sucked that we all took different roads, but it always was awesome when we'd meet up for X-mas break or summer.

El gran salpicón

This is a place where I can express different random ideas I come up with. The main purpose of this blog is to show what I've been up to -kind of- to certain people: I do not intend this to be a place where I open myself up to the enormous community of readers out there, but if you don't know me, welcome, I suppose...

Por qué el bilingüismo digital? Porque si me conocen, saben que tanto el inglés como el español son mis lenguas nativas. Hay cosas que salen mejor en español que en inglés, y vice-versa. Hay cosas que se pueden expresar con más facilidad en un idioma, y cosas que simplemente preferiría escribir en uno de los dos. También tiene mucho que ver la gente que yo pretendo que lea estos textos.

Why bilingual spatter? Some things come out better in Spanish, as some do in English. I may be posting something for a specific person that may not know both, or masters one over the other...
Spatter? Yup, random splashes of stuff -I don't even know what. We'll see as it goes along.
